Indoor fun this winter in Weld County

Brrrrr … it’s cold outside. Luckily, there are plenty of recreation centers around Weld County that offer indoor fun for the entire family to keep you active this winter.  

Swim your heart out

Find hours of fun in the water by visiting the following rec centers:

Greeley Recreation Center – 651 10th Ave., Greeley, CO 80631

Admission rates to the pool:

  • Children age 5 and under = $2
  • Youth ages 6-15 = $5
  • Adults = $6
  • Seniors (60+) = $5
  • Military (ID required) = $5

The rec center also offers archery, basketball, toys and equipment for preschoolers, volleyball, a tumble room, climbing wall, racquetball courts, weight room, fitness center and a room for parties. Memberships and drop-in rates are available.

Greeley Family FunPlex – 1501 65th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634

This center features a warm water pool and indoor waterpark where families can laze on the river, children can explore play structures, and anyone taller than 48 inches can ride down a waterslide. The FunPlex also offers a walking track, fitness center, weight room, fieldhouse, and a room for parties. Memberships and drop-in rates are available.

Johnstown YMCA – 165 Settler Way, Johnstown, CO, 80534

Take advantage of a lap pool along with a leisure pool with slides, diving boards, and a splash pad. There is also a sauna/steam room, pickleball, basketball gym, indoor running track, exercise spaces, and a fitness center with cardio and strength training equipment. There is a fee to join and a monthly membership fee.

Carbon Valley Recreation Center – 701 Fifth St., Frederick, CO 80530

A fully equipped aquatics facility with a 25-yard lap pool, activity pool, hot tub, steam room, and climbing wall allow you to have hours of fun. Have you always wanted to try BMX? Now’s your chance with $5 practice sessions on Tuesdays and free open track riding on Wednesdays. Youth are welcome to take dance classes and cheer. Drop-in rates, punch passes, monthly, quarterly, and annual membership prices are available.

Enriching youth and adults one activity at a time

Thompson Rivers Parks & Recreation District – 320 Centennial Dr., Milliken, CO 80543

Youngsters of all ages, and adults, will enjoy various programs designed to keep you moving with dance classes, cheer, and an open gym for kiddos and parents to explore. A fitness center is housed at the Milliken Athletic Complex with a discounted monthly fee or punch pass option.

Rodarte Community Center– 920 A St., Greeley, CO 80631

This center focuses on youth improvement, offering STEM activities, a GED program, after school programs, and boxing.

Windsor Community Recreation Center– 250 11th St., Windsor, CO 80550

Plenty of amenities exist at this center. Swim in the activity or lap pool and lazy river, take a run or walk around the running track, use the fitness center, and more. Memberships can be daily, 3-months, or annual. Pickleball, senior basketball, senior line dancing, the preschool open gym, and drop-in child care cost extra.

Eaton Recreation Center– 1675 3rd St., Eaton, CO 80615

The Eaton Recreation Center offers people a full suite of amenities, including a racquetball court, a pool, fitness classes for adults, and programs for older adults. This center even offers patrons guitar lessons, youth and adult fencing, a gaming club, and an artist’s club. Memberships Day passes range from $3.50 for an individual to $15 for a family of five.
